Sodality Mass III - January Twenty-fourth, Two Thousand-fourteen

Dear Sodality Members, Prospective Members, and Visitors to this website,

I hope you are all doing well, and that you will be able to make it to our third Sodality Mass at Casa Loyola Chapel (19 E. Micheltorena St.) on Friday, January 24th, 2014, at 6:10pm.
I have just finished putting the music together and thought I would publish it on the website so that you can familiarize yourself with the hymns and ordinaries of the Mass. I apologize for being so late on getting the music out.
Please remind any friends that may not be on our mailing list about the Mass. Also, I would still like to give the single Catholic women at Casa Loyola a small token of our appreciation, so please bring a couple extra dollars or whatever you are willing to spare.

MUSIC:

Opening Hymn: Praise, My Soul, The King Of Heaven

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sx1eMwlDFb8
1. Praise, my soul, the King of Heaven; To His feet thy tribute bring. Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, Evermore His praises sing: Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise the everlasting King.

2. Praise Him for His grace and favor To our fathers in distress. Praise Him still the same as ever, Slow to chide, and swift to bless. Alleluia! Alleluia! Glorious in His faithfulness.

3. Father-like He tends and spares us; Well our feeble frame He knows. In His hands He gently bears us, Rescues us from all our foes. Alleluia! Alleluia! Widely yet His mercy flows.

Communion Chant: Adoro Te Devote
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xs67InkZ3A
1. Adoro te devote, latens Deitas, Quae sub his figuris vere latitas; Tibi se cor meum totum subiicit, Quia te contemplans, totum deficit.

2. Visus, tactus, gustus in te fallitur, Sed auditu solo tuto creditur; Credo quidquid dixit Dei Filius, Nil hoc verbo Veritatis verius.

3. In Cruce latebat sola Deitas. At hic latet simul et humanitas: Ambo tamen credens, atque confitens, Petivit latro paenitens.

7. Jesu, quem velatum nunc aspicio, Oro fiat illud quod tam sitio: Ut te revelata cernens facie, Visu sim beatus tuae gloriae.

Closing Hymn: Hail, Holy Queen Enthroned Above

1. Hail, holy Queen enthron'd above, O Maria!
Hail, Queen of mercy and of love, O Maria!
Triumph, all ye cherubim, Sing with us, ye seraphim, Heaven and earth resound the hymn:
Salve, salve, salve Regina!

2. Our life, our sweetness, here below, O Maria
Our hope in sorrow and in woe, O Maria! Triumph, all ye cherubim, Sing with us, ye seraphim, Heaven and earth resound the hymn: Salve, salve, salve Regina!

3. To thee we cry, poor sons of Eve, O Maria! To thee we sigh, we mourn, we grieve, O Maria! Triumph, all ye cherubim, Sing with us, ye seraphim, Heaven and earth resound the hymn:

Salve, salve, salve Regina!

God Bless you all,

Sodality Founder Anthony Joseph Mocny Wed in Holy Matrimony to Katherine Nicole Harris on January 4th, 2014!

Immediately following the ceremony on the steps of Our Lady of Sorrows Church
Our one-of-a-kind, well spoken Sodality Founder, Anthony Joseph Mocny, was solemnly wed in Holy Matrimony to Katherine Nicole Harris on Saturday, January 4th, 2014, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Santa Barbara in a Tridentine Nuptial Mass.
Five minutes before one o'clock the bells of Our Lady of Sorrows began to ring over the City of Santa Barbara, and ten minutes past one o'clock the ceremony began. The bridesmaids began to process in to the tune of Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D. The bride's processional then began after that, but I cannot find the name to that very grand and triumphant march. Once the glowing bride had made her way to the nave of the church, the ceremony commenced. Father Andrew B. Garcia, S.J., Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Church officiated the ceremony. Following the vows and "I do's", High Mass began. The bride and groom were able to celebrate their first Mass together, right after the moment they were wed. The Tridentine Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Father Joseph Illo, from Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula. The Mass was sung by Father Illo and the Choir of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, which was led by longtime Choirmaster, Robert Helman, with longtime organist, Sandi Ward.
A reception 5 blocks down the street from the church at El Paseo Restaurant immediately followed the wedding ceremony. The reception featured an open bar, music & dancing, and a choice from three different entrees. A grand time was had by all.
This wedding and reception seemed to be that of young royalty. I am quite certain that they both would deny that statement though, being as humble as they are. But there is no denying that there was something very different about this wedding. In this day and age it was honestly a very counter-cultural ceremony. But what I saw from high atop the choir loft of OLS was two fully grown adults humbling themselves to come together as children of God.

Congratulations Anthony & Nikki Mocny. God Bless you both!

Can you guess who the bride is?
